Congratulations AYP!!!
Last night on behalf of AYPO, Keri Lowe, Leslie Hicks and Shellie Hoffield accepted The Oklahoma Community Institute’s 2009 Award For Outstanding Community Improvement Initiatives. Not only will we receive great statewide recognition for receiving this award, but we also received a $1,000 prize to continue the great work that we are doing to make Ardmore a better place to work, live and enjoy. Today, these three ladies will lead a breakout session on “How to start a Young Professionals Organization.” Congratulations everybody!! As we have said many times, this is YOUR organization and YOU helped earn this award. We look forward to more great things in the coming years.

Fundraisers
The Ardmore YP has one fundraiser annually. In 2010 the 4th Annual Poker Tournament and Blackjack Night fundraiser was another success! The event is open to the public, $100 gets you a seat in the most talked about Hold 'Em Tournament in town! Professional dealers come in and set up shop for a 3 hour timed tournament. Those not playing in the tournament enter the door for $25, from there Blackjack is available with great prizes for the three with the most chips at the end of the night! Many come out to simply support the organization, eat the wonderful food, bid on items in the Silent Auction and enjoy the evening with friends. The event is held annually in the spring; check back for dates for the 2011 tournament.
